Meet the vets and doctors who take care of the parks animals. Book yourself onto one of the park tours here or even get up close and hand feed some of the animals here. The fabulous animal encounters include elephants and penguins as well as sloths.

With a unique opportunity to watch the veterinary surgeons at work. Step inside the Animal Care Center in the Nairobi region of Busch Gardens. When the animals here get sick or injured, they are nursed back to health by the amazing animal care team of doctors and vets. Housing a fantastic observation area where guests can now stop and watch the treatment and care given to the animals. Check it out and see a range of treatments regarding health and diet as well as the occasional surgery that is also performed here. You can also book a place on the ‘Animal Care Center Tour’ and look behind the scenes in the care center. Ask the vets about the animals and find out what you can. Hand feed some of the injured animals here too.
Animal Connections – Nairobi Region at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
In the Animal Connections building you can see some of the animals close up and personal. See the sloths and flamingos. Be treated like a VIP guest at animal connections and participate in a feature with one of the exotic animals. Experience the life of a star with a hair and make-up session as well as choosing your clothes from the wardrobe. Go on set and feature in a short film with the star of the show. Of course, it’s one of the animals from the park. You never know which animal it could be. Be prepared for either an owl or a monkey. Or even a ring-tailed lemur or a lorikeet as well as, one of the colourful macaws. The script is visual for yourself and green screen technology enhances the short film. At the end of the performance you can even purchase the DVD to take home.
Elephants – Nairobi Region at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Visit the Elephants in the Nairobi Region of the park and see just how large they are in the flesh. The Asian elephants live together in a herd. Elephants are herbivores, meaning that they eat fruits and vegetation only in their diets. They are extremely sociable with each other and stay together as a group. Come and watch the beautiful elephants as they roam freely in their habitat. Watch them care and tend to their young. There is a tour behind the scenes in the elephant enclosure called ‘Elephant Insider Tour’. The tour lasts for roughly half an hour and allows you to see the elephants up close. Meet their friendly keepers and find out information about the elephants. There are age restrictions in place on the tour and having to be 10 years or more is a stipulation. Booking in advance is advisable, but not essential.
Penguins – Nairobi Region at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Visit the elegant Penguins at the Nairobi Region of Busch Gardens. They are so fascinating to watch. The penguins here are African penguins and they live together as a huge colony. They love to swim in the chilled pool of their enclosure to cool off. Florida seems like a hot place for the penguins, but it’s an easy mistake to make. These African penguins live in warmer weather conditions and are very used to the Florida climate. Book a place on the ‘Penguin Insider Tour’ and take a closer look at the penguins and how they live. The tour takes around 30 minutes and is very good. There are age restrictions in place. Guests have to be over 5 years old to take the tour. Reservations are advisable, but not always necessary.

Come and see the tree dwelling sloths in the Nairobi Region of the park. Find out why the sloths are slow moving creatures. See them for yourselves as the hang from the trees watching the world pass by. The sloths here are not lazy animals, but are naturally live at a slow pace. Hence the reason why, they are easy to spot and observe. Bring the family to see their laid back lifestyle in their own habitat. As yet there is no insider tour associated with the sloths yet. However, their handlers and trainers are always on hand to answer any questions or give you information on the lovable sloths.
